Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

TechShorts (techshorts.io) is a B2B tech news and research site operated by IntelliFunnel Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect through the site, why we collect it, who processes it for us, and the choices you have. For any question or request, email privacy@techshorts.io.

2. What we collect

  • Newsletter. Your email address when you subscribe.
  • Resources and profile prompts. When you open the resource library, download a whitepaper, report or ebook, or fill in the profile prompt, the details you enter. These can include your name, work email, job title, company and country.
  • Marketing consent. Whether you ticked the optional box asking to receive emails from us, and when. The box starts unticked, and you can open the resource library without ticking it.
  • Reading activity. When you open an article, a blog post or a resource, we record the view together with your device type (mobile or desktop) and the page you came from. These records do not include your name, your email address, or any identifier that follows you between visits.
  • Sponsored placements. When a sponsored card or banner is shown or clicked, we add one to a counter for that placement. The counter is not linked to you.
  • Technical logs. Our hosting provider records standard request information, such as your IP address and browser type, to keep the site secure and running.

3. How we use it

  • To send the newsletter and to deliver the resources you ask for, including unlocking gated downloads.
  • To let you into the resource library on later visits, and to prefill forms (see section 5).
  • To send you marketing emails, only if you ticked the consent box.
  • To understand which content is read, so we can improve the site.
  • To count views and clicks on sponsored placements.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.

4. Who processes it for us

We use service providers to run the site. They process personal information on our behalf to provide these services:

  • Supabase for our database and file storage.
  • Vercel for hosting.
  • Resend for delivering newsletter and resource emails.

We use Amazon Bedrock to categorize and summarize public news articles. Only public article content is sent to it, never information about visitors.

We do not run third-party analytics, advertising or social media tracking scripts on the site. We may disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

5. Cookies and local storage

  • ts_visitor_profile (cookie, up to one year): saves the details from a resources form or profile prompt, so the resource library opens without asking again and your next form is prefilled. It is also kept in your browser's local storage.
  • ts_visitor_prompt_dismissed (cookie, up to one year): remembers that you closed the profile prompt, so it does not ask again. It is also kept in your browser's local storage.
  • theme (local storage): remembers whether you chose light or dark mode.
  • newsletter-popup-shown (session storage): remembers that you have seen the newsletter prompt during this visit. It is cleared when you close the tab.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can delete these entries at any time in your browser settings. The resource library will then ask for your details again, and the next form will start empty.

Consent for non-essential cookies is managed through CookieYes, a third-party consent management platform. On your first visit, the banner it displays lets you accept, reject, or choose which categories of cookies to allow. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the site footer.

6. Your choices and rights

Email privacy@techshorts.io to ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. To stop the newsletter, email unsubscribe@techshorts.io from the address you subscribed with and we will remove you. Where we rely on your consent, such as for the newsletter, you can withdraw it at any time.

If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or California, these are rights the law gives you. You may also object to or restrict our processing where the law allows, and complain to your local data protection authority. We do not treat you differently for using these rights, and we will respond within the time the law requires.

7. How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or until you ask us to delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Reading-activity records contain no personal information.

8. Security

We serve the site over HTTPS and limit access to personal information to the people and services that need it. No system is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

9. International transfers

Our service providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries.

10. Children

The site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change is material, we will say so on this page.
